erm, mccain wasnt a neo-con at all? stop generalizing political parties into groups. as for not knowing our rights, most of the people who claim to really dont. the constitution is an intentionally vague document, meant to be interpreted and added to as time goes. our “civil liberties” for the most part are just interpretations of the law, not guaranteed rights. as for consumerism, its vital for capitalism to exist. i want, and thus seek a means to fufill my want. its the driving force of growth

neither of the presidents ever encouraged fascist policies. while the patriot act had its flaws, it never called for government supervision of society. bush also pushed for corporate growth and loosening of restrictions, a very anti-fascist idea. obama may push for more government oversight, but doesnt seek to dominate industry in any way, nor does he encourage nationalism. and btw, banks dont control the economy. theyre major investors, but not the sole ones

your silly. fascism is a form of government, not an economic system. your complaints of america becoming fascist (a form of government that is based on single-party control, propoganga, and government control to pus for order and structure) is both older than you think, and continually wrong. the US cannot be fascist if only because our society encourages disagreement and individualism, while a fascist government needs unity and order to last.

As for the sociological problems we face.. well theres simply too many to name. Everyone is either a blind Obama neo-liberal or a blind Bush/McCain neo-conservative. Hardly anyone knows anything about the constitution or civil liberties. Everyone is consumed in consumerism, most people subconciously believe that buying material things leads to happiness. Our public schools(or as I like to say, State Indoctrination Centers) are creating fools that don’t debate, they just follow the status quo

Europe is uniting into a Brave New World style liberal totalitarian regime. Russia and China are both ready to really start competing with the crumbling empire of fascist america (thanks to bush and obama for both making it fascist and making it collapse). The US is not pushing free trade anymore. Our government is colluding with bankers and controlling the economy all the while making deals with big CEOs. That’s fascism, not free trade.

id more likely off myself if i was prone to making pretentious statements like you just did. fact is our present political climate is probably better than it has been in the past couple hundred years. granted africa is a hellhole and climate change is an ominous threat, but overall things are lookin pretty good. europe is uniting, russia is subdued, and no major war has been fought in decades. nukes are controlled, and the US is the leading hegemon, pushing for free trade and building bridges

lol, metallica never bashed capitalist america, or complained about a society they do nothing to change. theyre a heavy metal band, not political commentators. and they never tried to be more than that.

SOAD, however, clearly states its contempt for our modern lifestyle. while im not saying modern american society isnt without its flaws, their business practices clearly go against their “message”. more power to em for making money, but they have no right to turn their noses up at anyone

i not blaming them for making use of the music industry to become rich and famous. i do have a problem or two of them exploiting the present political cliate to attempt to seem deep. take this song for instance. are they actually saying anything? no. theyre just throwing around a bunch of political/pseudo-intellectual buzzwords, and people eat it up and call them revolutionary.
