HYPNOTISM……………??

I’m just wondering where hypnotism falls on the scale of good-evil.
I know it says in the Bible that any type of magic is wrong…. and psychics are of the "Devil"….
What IS hypnotism condsidered?
Is it considered a type of magic or just a simple "mind-control"?

Any insight??

Just curious.

Hypnotism is a just a method of influencing people

No occult nonsense involved

It’s not "magic" and psychics, mediums, spiritists and other people who think they have special powers don’t actually exist – they are all either self-deluded or knowing fakes.

Hypnotism is the power of suggestion….anyone can do it. Hell I hypnotized myself to get relaxed. There’s nothing wrong with it.

It’s not magic nor mind control. It’s simply, from what I think, a state of lucid dreaming that can happen in certain people. Not everyone can go into hypnosis. Also you cannot be controlled to do something you wouldn’t normally do, like stab someone.

Hypnotism has nothing to do with magic, and everything to do with psychology, and the power of the mind over the body. I’ve been hypnotized for dental procedures by a reputable psychologist, and it was a fascinating experience! Much less anesthesia required (I have a sensitivity to some types), and much less post-surgical pain. What’s wrong with THAT???

I actually hypnotized myself on youtube yesterday, it was pretty fun. I don’t think it’s magic because there is no other "entity" controlling you.

It’s used more for relaxing purposes. Not so much "mind control" nowadays. It’s a type of therapy as well.

First of all psychics aren’t EVIL unless they are using their god given ‘gifts’ for evil & cunning gain….as it is with anything in this world. There is much good, tremendous technology, knowledge & ability available to us which can be used for both good and evil.

Hypnotism is an actual applied psychology technique using relaxation and the power of suggestion. It isn’t magic or evil…. It can however, be used for great personal good.

the bible teach us to be in absolute control of our minds.
this would put hypnotism in the mind-control category = sin.
if one allows oneself to be hypnotised, this means giving up the mind to satan to be brainwashed.

a very dangerous situation to be in.

First off, there is no such thing as magic. "Magic" is only illusion, because it’s impossible for items to float in the air, to saw a lady in half one minute and yet she lives and in the next minute she’s sealed together again, things do not disappear in a puff of smoke, etc etc. These things are tricks, illusions, and not real.

Secondly, there is no such thing as a devil, Satan, etc.

Thirdly, hypnosis is a psychological phenomenon. It’s got nothing to do with sin.

Nothing magical, supernatural, or evil about it.

Some people, because of the structure of their brains or their experience in life, are more "susceptible" to hypnosis than are others. I’m one of those who can’t be hypnotized, though I’ve really tried to be because I wanted to have the experience. I know a guy who’s a professional "stage" hypnotist, and he tells me that it absolutely doesn’t work on about 20% of people, it sort of works on about 40%, and the other 40% or so are really easy to put under.

Peace.
