Does Hypnotherapy work for a poor self image?

I have quite low self esteem and a poor self image. I feel that I need to change my internal view of myself. I need to lose weight and get a job and so on but I lack the inner strength to do so and I think it is down to how I feel about myself inside.
Do you think that hypnotherapy could help me make the positive changes I need to make?

Hi amelie:

Hypnotherapy is a tool….in certain cases an invaluable tool.
I would encourage it’s use for it can do no harm.
The one thing you must realize is that it, nor any tool will do a job for you. You are the one doing the creating and this like many tools is an aid.
Use it to develop "Motivation" and with that comes productivity.
I wish you well.

Yes. Hypnotherapy is a great tool for any positive growth that a person wants to make. It bypasses the critical facility which rejects a lot of the affermations you might make, and plants the new ideas in the subconcious.

Hypnotherapy works for everything. do not do self-hypnosis. if you are seriously thinking of hypnotherapy, do some research and make sure you trust the person who will be doing it. make sure it is a professional atmosphere and that you don’t feel at all threatened. Not only could this interfere with results, but could also be dangerous. Don’t be scared though. When hypnotized, you will not do anything you wouldn’t do awake – nothing that interferes or goes against your morals. good luck

It works for some but not for everyone. Worth a try anyhow.
However, try some "building self confidence" course from your local college (you may have to ask as they do not always advertise it, but available on request).
I know many people who have been in similar courses and really gained from it.
It won’t change your life suddenly, but give you some tools to make the changes you need.

Yes definitely. In fact I think it can really help improve self image. I was able to lose weight myself with hypnotherapy.
